Every Maine baby is eligible for a $500 Alfond Grant - all you need to do is open a NextGen® account on or before the baby's first birthday!
Don't wait 'til it's too late! If you've started to sign up and need help, visit the Harold Alfond® College Challenge table at the Maine Mall, outside JCPenney, on April 6th or 7th, 12 noon to 5pm each day.
We'll be there to help you finish (or start!) the paperwork to get your baby his or her $500 Alfond Grant. Remember to bring social security numbers (or taxpayer IDs, passports or alien registration cards) for you, your baby, and spouse if applicable.
See you at the Maine Mall!
If you wish to enroll online, visit www.500forbaby.org or call us at: 1-800-228-3734.

The Harold Alfond® College Challenge is the lasting gift of Harold Alfond who believed every Maine baby should have the opportunity to pursue education beyond high school.
*Review Terms and Conditions for grant requirements and details.
The Alfond Grant is awarded to a NextGen account. NextGen is a Section 529 plan administered by the Finance Authority of Maine (FAME). Before you invest in NextGen, request a NextGen® Program Description from your Maine bank or financial advisor, or call FAME at 1-800-228-3734 and read it carefully. The Program Description contains more complete information, including investment objectives, charges, expenses and risks of investing in NextGen, which you should carefully consider before investing. You also should consider whether your home state or your designated beneficiary's home state offers any state tax or other benefits that are only available for investments in such state's 529 plan. Merrill Lynch, Pierce,Fenner & Smith Incorporated, a registered broker-dealer, Member SIPC, is the program manager and underwriter.
The Finance Authority of Maine (FAME) does not discriminate in the administration of any of its programs or in its employment practices on the basis of race, color, national origin, age, gender, religion, physical or mental disability, political affiliation, marital status or sexual orientation. FAME is an equal opportunity employer, provider and lender.
The event and funding of the event is provided solely by the Alfond Scholarship Foundation.
